Auf der Flucht vor den antikommunistischen Tribunalen der McCarthy-\u00c4ra reiste er in die Deutsche Demokratischen Republik, wo Heym eine neue Wirkungsst\u00e4tte fand. Immer wieder wandte sich der Schriftsteller an die deutschen Sozialisten, wobei er ihrem Wunsch nach Kritik, die konstruktiv sein m\u00fcsse, nicht folgen wollte. <em>&#8222;Kritik <\/em><em>muss nein
